Glenside Fire Company participates in numerous fire prevention activities throughout the year in order to educate the public about fire related dangers they may face on a daily basis. We also focus on creating plans of action for families in the event of a fire.
We have numerous school and community groups visit our firehouse throughout the year and we also go out into the community and give presentations. If your organization would like a fire prevention presentation, contact us!
Yearly, in conjunction with Fire Prevention Week in October, Glenside Fire Company holds its annual Open House. Come join your local volunteer firefighters for an evening of fun! See the fire trucks, learn about what we do, watch a fire safety demonstration, and enjoy some food and refreshments.
Every year Glenside Fire Co. participates in the 6 ABC Save-A-Life. Channel 6 and local fire companies team with corporate sponsors to create awareness about fire safety and distribute free smoke detectors to residents. Last year Kidde Corporation supplied 20,000 free smoke detectors to be handed out by fire companies. Station 1 periodically has smoke detector details where members go door to door distributing these smoke detectors and talking to residents about fire safety.
If you live in our fire district and would like a free smoke detector contact us or stop by our station.
